‘Sudden geological changes or extreme weather conditions can affect Earth’s surface.’

The Year 7 package explores the following statements from the Australian Curriculum;

Some of Earth’s resources are renewable, but others are non-renewable.’

‘Water is an important resource that cycles through the environment.’

Year 8 - Rocks & Minerals

The Year 8 package explores the following statement from the Australian Curriculum;

‘Sedimentary, igneous and metamorphic rocks contain minerals and are formed by processes that occur within Earth over a variety of timescales.

The STEM packages for this year group will focus on choosing appropriate materials for a task and exploration for resources.

Year 9 - Plate Tectonics

The Year 9 package explores the following statement from the Australian Curriculum;

‘The theory of plate tectonics explains global patterns of geological activity and continental movement.’

Materials also focus on evaluation of conclusions.

The STEM packages for this group will focus on engineering for earthquakes, preparing for volcanic hazards and disposal of hazardous earth materials.

Year 10 - Carbon & Envrionmental Cycles

The Year 10 package explores the following statement from the Australian Curriculum;

‘Global systems, including the carbon cycle, rely on interactions involving the biosphere, lithosphere, hydrosphere and atmosphere.’

Materials also focus on analysis of patterns and trends in data.

The STEM packages for this group will focus on carbon capture utilisation and storage, farming and sea level rise mitigation measures.

The Year 11/12 EES Resources are designed to assist with the teaching and learning of Earth and Environmental Science.
